Pink Popcorn Vanilla Glaze (Printable)

Light, crunchy popcorn coated in a sweet rosy-pink vanilla glaze for a whimsical homemade snack.

# What You Need:

→ Popcorn Base

01 - 1/2 cup popcorn kernels (or 8 cups plain popped popcorn)
02 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for popping, if needed)

→ Pink Candy Glaze

03 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1/4 cup light corn syrup
05 - 1/4 cup water
06 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
07 - 1/8 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
09 - 2–3 drops red food coloring

# Steps:

01 - Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add popcorn kernels, cover, and shake occasionally until popping slows. Remove from heat. Transfer popped popcorn to a large bowl, discarding any unpopped kernels.
02 - In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Continue to boil for 3–4 minutes without stirring until slightly thickened.
03 - Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and red food coloring. Adjust color as needed for a rosy pink shade.
04 - Immediately pour the hot glaze over the popcorn. Quickly toss with a spatula or greased hands to coat all kernels evenly.
05 - Spread coated popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let cool completely before breaking into clusters and serving.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It turns an everyday snack into something that feels like celebration food without requiring fancy techniques or hard to find ingredients
  • The pink vanilla coating creates that perfect sweet crunch balance that makes it impossible to eat just one handful
02 -
  • Work fast once that glaze is ready because sugar coatings start setting up quickly and you want even coverage before it gets too sticky to toss properly
  • The glaze looks much darker in the pan than it will on the popcorn, so do not keep adding food coloring hoping for a deeper pink shade
03 -
  • Butter your baking sheet and hands before starting because the coating is incredibly sticky and you do not want to be scraping hardened sugar off everything later
  • If you are making this for a party, pop the corn ahead of time and keep it in covered bags, then make the glaze right before serving for the freshest crunch
