01 - Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat from the pan.
02 - Add taco seasoning and water to the cooked beef. Stir thoroughly and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend and the mixture to thicken. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
03 - In a large salad bowl, combine chopped romaine lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, diced red onion, drained black beans, drained corn, and shredded cheddar cheese.
04 - Gently add the slightly cooled taco beef to the salad mixture.
05 - Add the crushed Doritos and your choice of dressing just before serving. Toss gently to evenly distribute all ingredients.
06 - Serve immediately while the chips retain their crunch.
